MARATHON FOR THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
On the occasion of the International Women's Day, which is celebrated on March 8, we launch a new prayer marathon.
In 1911, the first International Women's Day was held. After several years of incessant social struggles for equality, justice and full development, women claimed the right to decide, to vote, to hold high public office positions, decent education, and to participate in the political live without any discrimination.
However, despite significant social advances that have been achieved in recent decades, the fact is that there are still countries in the XXI century, where the inequality between women and men is still too big.
Women are fundamental for the development of modern societies. Therefore, we pray that all women can live without any gender discrimination, social, economic, racial, or sexual; and so that women and men can both together build a more just society for future generations.
